Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIFE), the only Deemed University for fisheries in India, is the institution of higher learning for fisheries science
The center offers long term and short term certificate courses in the field of brackish water and fresh water aquaculture as well as Hatchery management and seed production course on scampi, tiger prawn, Magur and Indian and exotic carps for the In-service personnel, farmers, entrepreneurs, hatchery operators, beside students of graduate and post graduate.
Courses are offered in both English/Hindi and Telugu medium.
CIFE offers Masters and PhD programs in specialized branches of fisheries, undertakes cutting edge research, conducts capacity enhancement programs, and provides technical support and consultancy to development agencies, fishers, farmers and entrepreneurs.
