Satyam (NTR) is the Panchayat President of a village, who always tries to prevent the execution of the selfish plans of his uncle and ex-president Rudrayya. Rudrayya's daughter Savitri (Jayaprada) and Satyam are in love, and to prevent their marriage, Rudrayya hires Rama Sastry (Prabhakar Reddy) to kill Satyam. Satyam gets killed and his soul reaches Heaven and subsequently to Hell. He creates sensation there and bring Lord Yama and his aide Chitragupta to Earth. How he gets married to Savitri is the rest of the fun-filled film.
