The movie Pournami is a Telugu film. The movie pournami is about a village which is suffering from severe droughts.When a dedicated dancer from a traditional family comes forth to the rescue of the village by dancing in front of lord Shiva for many days and nights, earns the blessings of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. They bless the village with rains and village prospers again. When the girl die's with a death wish that a girl from her family should dance in front of lord shiva in every twelve years on pournami. As this tradition continues trisha who plays Pournami, is supposed to dance after twelve years in the present day goes missing. So her sister Chandrakala played by charmy is next in succession and has to dance and her father refuses. Prabhas plays shiva keshava in the movie who is a dance instructor and as the story follows the relationship develops between Chandrakala and Shiva Keshava and how they overcome the evil zamindar while preparing for the next Pournami Festival. The movie is under the banner Sumanth Productions.
