The story of the movie is largely based on "A Princess of Mars", the first novel which feature's the hero John Carter. The movie starts with Former Captain John Carter mysteriously being transferred to the planet Mars called as Barsoom. There he becomes a part of the conflict between various nations. Carter takes the responsibility of saving the people of Barsoom. what happens, how John Cater saves the people of Barsoom is to be seen as the story develops. The lead pair in the movie is Taylor Kitsch and Lynn Collins.
