Veera (Rani Mukherji) lives in a village and works with a theater group, all the while nursing a dream to play cricket with bigwigs like Dhoni and Tendulkar. Rohan (Shahid Kapoor) is the captain of a county cricket team in England. He comes to India to revive his father’s cricket team. Veera dons a turban and a beard and transforms into Veer Pratap Singh to make it to the men's cricket team and to prove that she can play the game as well as any man. Along the way, Veera and Rohan fall in love with each other. Rest forms the story.
