Event Description
Vivekananda Express was flagged off by Mamata Banerji, The Hon’ble Railway Minister on 12th January, 2011 from Howrah Railway Station in commemoration of 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda with a view to disseminate his legacy to the young generations. A tribute from Indian Railways, this special exhibition train has air conditioned exhibition coaches with special exhibits such as photographs, write ups etc elucidating the life and philosophy of Swami Vivekananda spreading the message of religious harmony,universal brotherhood etc.
Vivekananda Express, an exhibition train, showcasing the life, works and teachings of great spiritual leader Swami Vivekananda, will arrive in Kakianda Town Railway Station for public display from 24th to 26th May, 2011
Entry for the exhibition is free and will be open for public from 10am to 6pm on all the above dates.
This special exhibition train is scheduled to stop for exhibition at important stations over Indian Railways for a period of two years till 12th January, 2013.
