Event Description
Say NO to Plastic...!!!
The Bagroots campaign is a campaign aimed at creating public awareness on the harmful effects of plastic bags and polythene.
Two Day event for which Suzy is the ambassador.
With the partnership of Narayana E-Techno School Kakinada, we are undertaking the following events in the city of Kakinada
21st January.. Time for Action..
21st January:
09:00 a.m - 3 Km Rally starting from JNTU Main Gate
02:00 p.m - Drawing and Painting competition at Hotel Ishwarya Grand
22nd January:
10:00 a.m - Quiz competition on Environment at Narayana E-Techno School premises
02:00 p.m - Painting Exhibition by students on Pollution by Plastic Bags at Spencers Shopping Mall
06:00 p.m - Formal Closing at JNTU Auditorium
It would not be possible for us to coordinate the events successfully without your cooperation by sending two teams of your students to participate in the events by extending your best support.
Participant need to bring the Chart paper and drawing accessories like crayons, sketch pens, water colours etc., for the art competition
Please note that the dress-code for the rally is green or white.
Consider the Following Shocking Facts About Plastic Shopping Bags:
• Plastic bags are made of polyethylene
• Polyethylene is a petroleum product
• Production contributes to air pollution and energy consumption
• Four to five trillion plastic bags are manufactured each year
• People use over 380 billion polyethylene bags per year
• People throw away approximately 100 billion polyethylene bags per year
• Of those 100 trillion plastic bags, 1% are recycled
• It takes 1000 years for polyethylene bags to break down
• As polyethylene breaks down, toxic substances leach into the soil and enter the food chain
