PURCHASE EXECUTIVE
Location: Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh
Reporting To: Procurement Head/ Management
Experience: 3–5 years preferred, ideally in shipbuilding, marine, engineering, manufacturing or industrial procurement.

1. Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Purchase Executive who can independently handle the entire purchase cycle, from receipt of purchase requisitions to final delivery, invoice verification and payment coordination.
The candidate will be responsible for sourcing materials and services required for shipbuilding, vessel repairs, maintenance and other company projects, ensuring timely procurement at competitive prices while maintaining the required quality standards.
The role requires strong vendor management, negotiation skills, commercial awareness and close coordination with project teams, stores, accounts and management.

2. Key Roles & Responsibilities
A. Purchase Requisition & Requirement Planning
B. Vendor Identification & Sourcing Identify suitable suppliers, manufacturers, dealers and service providers for required materials and services. Develop and maintain a reliable vendor database covering marine equipment, machinery, steel, electrical items, mechanical components, consumables and other project requirements.
C. Quotation Comparison & Negotiation Recommend suitable vendors for approval, supported by proper commercial justification. Ensure procurement decisions comply with the company's approval procedures and budgetary requirements.
D. Purchase Order Processing
E. Order Follow-Up & Delivery Management

Take complete ownership of every purchase order until the ordered material is delivered and accepted. Regularly follow up with vendors regarding manufacturing progress, dispatch readiness and committed delivery dates.
F. Invoice Verification & Payment Coordination
G. Procurement Documentation & MIS Reporting

3. Specific Responsibilities for Shipbuilding & Marine Projects
The candidate should be capable of handling procurement requirements relating to:
* Shipbuilding steel, plates, pipes, fittings and fabrication materials.
* Marine machinery, engines, pumps, valves and mechanical equipment.
* Electrical equipment, cables, switchboards and automation systems.
* Navigation, communication and safety equipment.
* Paints, blasting materials, welding consumables and general stores.
* Vessel maintenance, repair and dry-docking requirements.
* Outsourced fabrication, machining, equipment servicing and other subcontracted works.
The candidate must coordinate closely with project managers and technical teams to ensure materials are procured in accordance with approved specifications and project timelines.

4. Required Qualifications & Skills
Educational Qualification:
Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. A diploma or certification in procurement or supply chain management would be an advantage.

Essential Skills:
* Experience in handling the complete purchase-to-payment coordination process.
* Strong sourcing, negotiation and vendor management capabilities.
* Ability to understand technical specifications and coordinate with engineering teams.
* Good knowledge of purchase orders, GST invoices and procurement documentation.
* Proficiency in MS Excel, particularly comparative statements, purchase trackers and MIS reports.
* Working knowledge of Tally or ERP procurement systems.
* Strong communication, follow-up and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to independently handle multiple purchase requirements across different projects.
Key Expectation from the Candidate
The Purchase Executive must be a hands-on professional capable of independently managing procurement activities rather than merely collecting quotations and issuing purchase orders.

The responsibility extends from understanding the initial requirement, sourcing and negotiating, obtaining approvals, placing orders and ensuring delivery, right through to invoice verification, payment coordination and final purchase closure.
