A two-day ‘Women Scientists Sensitization workshop’ was completed at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada here on Saturday in the presence of ‘Department of Science & Technology (DST) Officer–in–Charge’ Dr. HB.Singh. A total 60 women scientists participated and have given presentations on their research work in this workshop. Addressing the workshop, Mr. Singh said that the he and DST is keen on increasing the fellowships to encourage more women to take up research in basic and applied sciences. Mr. Singh said, a monthly fellowship of Rs. 10,000 is being paid now to women scientists possessing post – graduate degrees equivalent to M.Sc in basic / applied sciences, B.Tech in engineering sciences and MBBS or other similar qualifications. JNTU-K Director I.Santhi Prabha, Andhra University Professor Rajeswari, C.R.Rao Institution Director Mr. S.B.Rao, Mr. V.K.Basin, Mr. A.K.Batnagar and Engineering students participated in the program.
