Chief Minister YS. Rajashekar Reddy declared Dasara gift to state Government employees by agreeing to sanction 22 % interim relief in two spells. Y.S along with the finance minister Mr.K. Rosaiah held discussions with joint action committee and took the decision

     The government agreed for interim relief of 15% from 1^st October and 7% from January 1st 2009. The meeting decided that this will merge with the GPF and the employs will receive the total 22% from 1^st April 2009. This decision will cost nearly 1,000 crores for this financial year and a total of 2,904 crores for the whole year.

     The JAC leaders Gopal Reddy, Secretary General Swamy Goud and many hailed Y.S for his decision and they said that this is the highest interim relief they ever received. The employs shouted that this is the victory of them and praised chief minister with slogans.

     AP Secretariat Employees Association President Mr. Rama Krishna said that the “Government in their previous discussions agreed for only 13%, but on Wednesday CM called for further discussions. In the morning session they decided to give 18% and by the end of evening finally 22% was declared”. Gopala reddy said that they are compromising due to the financial position of the government and they will have further discussions regarding women’s maternity leaves and  the problems facing by the contract employees.
