Kakinada, Jan 13th: Aiming to increase the female literacy rate in the state the Centrally sponsored female literacy program called Sakshara Bharat is going to be launched from March in 18 districts with an exception for five districts including East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Adilabad, and Hyderabad where the female literacy level is more than 50 percent according to 2001 census. The Center will bear 75 percent of the expenditure while the state with 25 per cent for implementation of the program and Panchayat raj department is the nodal agency which will supervise the execution of the program.
According, a two day meet was organized in Hyderabad with the top brass officials from the districts from January 11 to 12. For the sake of effective implementation of the Sakshara Bharat an district level management committee will be formed with ZP Chairman as president while the collector as the vice chairman. ZP Chief executive officer will be the co-coordinator and adult education deputy director will be member convener. District level officials and senior officials from other departments will become the members of the committee. The funds for the same will directly reach the targeted sections from the Center under the aegis of National Literacy Mission.
