Kakinada, Jan 12th: With the increasing demand for the water supply in the district, a proposal was made by the district administration to develop the infrastructure for the same. Proposal worth 108 crores was submitted to the state government by the district administration.
Kakinada mayor, Kavikondala Saroja has revealed the details to the media on Monday. She attended the mayors, municipal chairpersons and municipal commissioners meeting organized at Hyderabad on January 10th recently. She told that the meeting was organized at Dr. Marri Chenna Reddy Institute of Human Resources Development under the chairman ship of Chief Minister, Y. S Rajashekar Reddy.
The proposal includes laying of new water pipes in place of old ones and installation of new machinery. In addition to this the need to lay new pipelines in the newly developed areas were put before the chief minister. Saroja said that, with the changing needs of the water supply the CM has promised to consider the proposal.
Ms Saroja also revealed that the Rs4 crore were released by the state government as a part of 13crore that was promised y the CM during his Rajiv Nagara Bata programme. The money will be utilized for the earth filling of low lying areas in the district. Deputy Mayor, corporators and others participated in the meeting.
