New health scheme for state staff

Hyderabad, Aug 16th: The chief minister, Y.S Raja Shekar Reddy, agreed to extend a special health insurance scheme for government employees and pensioners. The CM gave his approval at a review meeting held on Arogyasri at the secretariat. He said that the new insurance scheme would be designed in such a way that all the sections would be given cashless treatment. Dr Reddy however told the Chief Secretary, Mr. P. Ramakanth Reddy to hold discussions with employee’s organizations before taking a final decision.

Dr. Reddy said that the new scheme would provide cashless treatment at all network hospitals. Like in Arogyasri, the scheme will be very comprehensive and beneficial to employees, he said and added that the scheme will be finalized along with the Pay Revision Commission recommendations. The finance department will work out the modalities, he added. CM directed the finance department to immediately sort out problems related to payments to all network hospitals of Rajiv Arogyasri. He wanted the officials concerned to hold a meeting with the managements of the network hospitals.

The finance minister, Mr. K. Rosaiah, Arogyasri minister, Mr. P. Satyanarayana and Arogyasri trust vice chairman, Mr. P.K Agarwal attended the meeting.
