Kakinada, Jan 15th: 8 houses were destroyed and property worth Rs 4 lakh was gutted in a fire accident that broke out on Friday afternoon at the Sundarayya colony. According to sources with the blasting of two LPG cylinders, fire broke out from one of the houses in the colony that created panic among the people in the area. As soon as the fire broke out the villagers were moved to safe places.
On hearing the news, the fire engines from Coramandal, NFCL and Salipeta were pressed into service to control the flames. Kakinada rural mandal parishad president, Mr. G. Venkateswara Rao, mandal tahsildhar, Mr. S. Jonson and others visited the area of the fore accident. Kakinada rural legislator, Mr. Kurasala Kanna Babu, who is away from the place had telephonic talk with officials over the relief to be extended to the fire accident victims.
