Kakinada, Feb 5th: The AP State Housing Corporation authorities are taking up a special drive to complete the construction of houses, which are at an advanced stage of completion in East Godavari. This is an attempt to expedite the construction of houses meant for weaker sections under Indiramma housing scheme. The state government issued an order recently sanctioning an additional loan of Rs 20,000 for each housing unit in rural areas, and Rs 30,000 in urban areas for the beneficiaries belonging to SC and ST communities.
Under the Indiramma housing scheme, each unit cost is fixed at Rs 34,250 in rural areas and Rs 40,000 in urban areas, Nearly 39,000 beneficiaries belonging to SC ans ST communities in rural areas will get the benefit to complete the construction if their houses sanctioned under phase II and phase III of the housing scheme. However the additional loan will not be sanctioned for housing units which are nearing completion. The housing authorities are also making efforts to get sanction of similar additional loans for beneficiaries not belonging to SC ans ST communities. Efforts are on to get the loans for the beneficiaries through banks, under Indira Kranthi Padham.
