Hyderabad, Jan 19th: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah will hold a two-day conference with District Collectors from Jan 20 to fine tune the administration and reiterate the priorities of the Government. Revenue Minister D Prasad Rao said the government would lay emphasis on agriculture and 'Jalayagnam' and flagship programs like 'Rajiv Aarogyasri', Rs 2 per kg rice scheme, 'Indiramma' housing, pensions and co-contributory pension scheme ''Abhayahastham'', among other programs.
The conference, which would begin with the Chief Minister's inaugural address, would discuss seasonal conditions, drought, flood relief, power supply and civil supplies, including price rise, implementation of welfare programs for SCs/STs/BCs/Minorities and disabled. He said though the state had witnessed a fall in revenue collection and funds devolution from the Centre in the wake of the global economic downturn, there was no dearth of funds for implementation of schemes like the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS).
On the second day, the Chief Minister would have one-to-one meeting with the District Collectors in the morning before the formal meeting to discuss industrial development and implementation of the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM), among other subjects. The conference would be wound up after discussion on law and order with the District Collectors and the Superintendents of Police in the afternoon, he added.
