Adilabad, Oct 10th: Two armed groups clashed during the occasion of immersing Duga Devi in Bhainsa on Friday afternoon. Nearly 24 people were injured and 4 died in this clash. 40 shops and 15 Lorries were damaged by the mobs. Two journalists were injured in the scuffle.
Police tried to convince the two groups but they started pelting of stones at each other due to which the clash became more severe. Cops could not bring the situation into control so they fired into the air and also lathicharged at the clashing groups. Police imposed 144 sections to bring the situation into control.
The injured were shifted to Nizamabad hospital for First Aid and later shifted to Hyderabad for further treatment. According to the sources the clashes took place due to the lack of proper police security in such a communally sensitive area and the police failed to bring the situation under control.
The mobs injured the journalists who went there to cover the clash. A mob attacked the electronic media and damaged the camera and slapped the media person and pelted stones against them.
