Rajahmundry, Jan 15th: The Rajahmundry City Police have provided protection to a 20-year-old woman, Anusha who apprehended threat to her life from a man who was released on bail. A woman and two male constables on mufti were drafted on duty to protect her from Rajesh who stabbed her father and mother to death and attacked her with a knife at her Lalithanagar Residence in Rajahmundry on September 17 for refusing to love him.
The police did not visualize any problem as at present Rajesh shifted to nearby Kovvur and as directed by the court in its bail order, visiting the Rajahmundry Police Station in the morning and evening to sign the register. ''The accused Rajesh is under close observation and we are not anticipating any problem to Anusha,'' they said.
However, in deference to her request and also of the women's organizations, protection is arranged. Anusha, her relatives and women organizations staged dharna in front of the Sub-Collector's office at Rajahmundry on Thursday seeking police protection apprehending threat to her life.
